Homeland Security’s Private Jet Nuke Detector Plan: EPIC FAIL.
Why hasn’t Al Qaeda used private jets to attack us again? It’s a very valid question. Coupled with the certainty that Al Qaeda is actively trying to procure a nuclear weapon, implementing a defense strategy against the option of using a private jet to either smuggle in or explode a nuclear device over US soil seems like a smart move.
I was just starting to feel safer and then I saw this half-assed policy:
Chertoff ordered that all “general aviation” planes from overseas be scanned when they land in the USA.
WTF!?! The one nuclear device you probably have to worry about most is going to be aboard the flight that has no intention of freaking landing. These detectors and scanners are dead money unless they are deployed where flights originate.
C’mon, Homeland Security…you’re better than that.
