The Most Expensive Private Jets FU Money Can Buy

Keeping up with the Joneses can be tough.  Especially when the Joneses are billionaires.  But there are certain cars, yachts, pieces of real estate, and private jets that you can buy that say, “I win!”.  Below are the current crop of “I win!” private jets.

Airbus A380 Private JetAirbus A380
Price:  $300 million +

This uber-jet is starting to enter fleet service but one secretive buyer has already bought one for themselves (rumored to be Saudi royalty).  Nothing else says, “I win!”, like showing up in your own Airbus A380.

Boeing 747-8 Private JetBoeing 747-8
Price:  $290 million +

Designed to compete directly against the Europeans Airbus A380’s “business case”, the Boeing 747-8 is the heaviest iron from the United States but should be lighter and more efficient than the A380.  There have already been a half dozen orders for personal use where the “business case” is nothing more than playing Rich Guy Whipout.

Google\'s Boeing 767 Private JetBoeing 767
$120 million +

The Boeing 767 may be the favorite among the billionaire’s large private jet circuit.  Notorius Russian billionaire and Chelsea football club owner Roman Abromavich owns one.  As do the Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin.  Google’s 767 also carries equipment for NASA.

Boeing Business Jet 3 Private JetBoeing Business Jet 3
$70 million +

A spiffed-up version of the Boeing 737, the Business Jet was the original commercial-to-private conversion jet. The BBJ3 is widely owned by titans of business and celebrities looking to roll like Kanye West on Entourage.

Airbus ACJ Private JetAirbus ACJ
$65 million +

The Airbus Corporate Jet (aka, the “ACJ”) is a favorite of executives and governments.  The French and the Brazilian goverments both use the Airbus ACJ extensively.  Built to compete with Boeing’s Business Jet fleet, the ACJ family of jets employed many technological advancements and extensive use of fly-by-wire.

Bombardier BD700 Global Express Private JetBombardier BD-700 Global Express
$45 million +

The Bombardier Global Express is one of the fastest ways to travel for your private jet dollar.  It is also super fuel efficient, allowing interncontinental travel without hitting the gas station and it can fly anywhere in the world with only one stop.  With that in mind, this Bombardier may be the “go green” option for flying in style.  Not that there’s really any way to justify private jet gas bills as eco-friendly…

Embraer Lineage 1000 Private JetEmbraer Lineage 1000
$40 million +

Embraer has glossed the Lineage 1000 as ”the most accomplished and luxurious business jet ever brought to market.”

Gulfstream G550 Private JetGulfstream G550
$35 million +

The G550 may be the most popular of the “Big Dog” private jets.  But it also makes a ton of business sense for executives, both in private business and the government.  The US Air Force and FBI are among the goverment agencies that use the G550.  This is the Big Dog Gulfstream until the G650 hits the market.

Dassault Falcon 900 Private JetDassault Falcon 900
$33 million +

Two engines is sooooo last decade.  The three-engined Falcon 900 corporate jet is one of the more technologically advanced private jets available.

It’s not much of secret that the “secretive” Royal family member rumored to have ordered the very first private Airbus A380 is none other than Saudi, walking, multi-national-conglomerate zillionaire, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

First of all, the prices quoted for these sybaritic, flying penthouses are just for your basic, run-of-the-mill model versions and does not include the sort of upgraded, deluxe-luxury renovation these pampered, gilded life-style jet-setters are accustomed that add at least a year or so before completed and delivered.

Secondly, as there is a huge backlog of A380’s that are at least 2-3 years behind schedule, the Prince has been informed that it’s going
to be at least 4-6 years before he can induct a new crop of nubile, virgin, child-brides into the Mile-High Club any time soon.
